Coverage

Data sources and coverage

Every Entitylight report is built from public records, read from the source that holds them. This page lists what is searched, where, and what each report shows.

How records are handled

Names as filed
Records appear with the names and details the source publishes.
Source status
Each report says, for every source, whether it was searched, unavailable or not covered.
Partial court results
When a court lists more cases than could be read, the report says some may be missing.
Exact UCC matches
A UCC search keeps the filings whose debtor name matches the name searched exactly.
Sanctions matches
A match is a lead for review, not a finding. Each one shows a match score and the lists it is on.
State page screenshot
A lookup links to a screenshot of the state's page, taken when the lookup ran, where one is available.

Limits to keep in mind

Public sources can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and they are sometimes unavailable. Entitylight shows what each source published at the time of the search. It is one input to your decision, not a substitute for your own judgment. The terms of service cover this in full.

Entitylight does not provide a risk score. Where a source does not cover a state or court, the report says it is not covered instead of showing an empty result.
