Privacy Policy
Last updated October 27, 2026
This policy explains what information Entitylight collects when you use our website, app and API, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and name, your company's name and type, and what you told us about how you plan to use Entitylight when you set up your account.
What you search for. The business names, states, state IDs and addresses you enter, the businesses you watch, and the reports Entitylight builds for them.
Usage and billing records. Which lookups and checks ran, when, and whether they counted toward your plan.
Developer settings. The API keys you create and the webhook address you give us.
Technical information. Your IP address, browser type and the cookies that keep you signed in. We use these to run the service, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We don't use advertising cookies.
2. Public records in reports
Reports are built from public sources: Secretary of State business registries, UCC filing offices, court records and government sanctions lists. They can include the names, titles and business addresses of officers, registered agents and parties to filings, exactly as those sources publish them.
If you believe a public record shown in Entitylight is wrong, the source that published it can correct it. Contact us and we'll tell you which source it came from.
3. How we use information
- To run your searches, build your reports and check the businesses you watch
- To send the emails you need: sign-in codes, alerts about watched businesses and messages about your account
- To track usage against your plan and bill for it
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems
- To answer your questions and improve Entitylight
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
We share information only with companies that help us run Entitylight: hosting, database, email delivery, bot protection, background processing, browser and AI services that read public record sites on our behalf, and public record data providers. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account information, reports and usage records for as long as your account is open, so you can go back to past lookups. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize this information unless we need to keep it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.
6. How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your API keys private and tell us right away if you think one has been exposed.
7. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@entitylight.com. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
8. Who Entitylight is for
Entitylight is a business service for companies in the United States. It isn't meant for consumers or for anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll also let account owners know by email before it takes effect.
